Yes. the last time you want to be searching for it is when you have installed a new battery and you need the vehicle back on the road
As a final aside, some other weird stuff also happened post new battery
The trip counter forgot itself
The clock is now wrong
The tailgate window wiper was...

Did the new hose work for ya?
-
Well to finish the story the dealer came back having emailed land rover and said
_2311.
STILL WRONG
To summarise
IF you have the Becker Traffic Pro BE 4765 and you have no code.,
1/. Get the removal keys shown above
2/. Remove radio and look for serial number
3/. Join digitalkaos.co.uk and...
-
Ok. I found a site 'digitalkaos.co.uk' which took longer to register than to come back with a code that worked!
22311.
-
I've been back in touch with the dealer and they are contacting LR on my behalf.
I will try the google trick
-
Ok the 'Mercedes' keys got the unit out all right.
However as you can see, the last 5 digits of the serial number do not fall within the range 1-7 that can be entered..
Anyone have any bright ideas?
PS I tried 21473 and that didn't work either?
-
Well given that there are only keys 1-7, it will in fact take only 7 attempts..
But do you actually know that I have 4 correct digits and only need a further one on the end?
Or is it the beginning?
-
I will get keys and try and remove it and read S/n.
It truly is pathetic this coding business.
Since once out of the car all it takes is the serial number its no barrier to theft at all.
-
Not easy when the keys only go from 1-7 :p!!!!
-
at least one other 'zone' user says the unit is removable with keys, and those look like key slots
And 'mercedes keys fit'; and those keys are for mercedes
You would have thought all this was simple well known stuff
I agree, they should have given me a 5 digit key, but they didn't.
-
For the record, here is a video that deals with replacing a similar Becker unit in a mercedes
And it looks like hellfrauds have the correct key
-
-
Oh another landyzone member said, 5 years ago about this unit:
Now what are these keys looking like. I think they go in those slots
-
Absolutely not
It looks like this..
I am wondering if those slots at the base might do something towards removing it?
-
1/. I don't care who knows what about the vehicle. Its not a Lamborghini :)
2/. According to the manual and the radio it is 5 digits.
3/. Entering the 4 supplied digit code does nothing :(
4/. Even the video that shows a radio being removed by stripping the console out takes more than 5...
