That's for the replies. I started cleaning them up this afternoon and they are actually quite solid. Do you think galvanising would cause any problems?

Hi,
Apologies as this may be a stupid question but I've got new springs on the way from GB springs. While taking the old ones off I noticed the spring plate which the shock attaches too is pretty rusty. Dont really want to throw them on them on with the new springs and can find a set of 4...

First time I've done anything like that so wanted it to be right but feel it's backfired. Would just be good to get it mostly off to start a fresh without damaging the galv. The etch primer made a really tidy job tho. Just a pitty about the top coat. Haha good shout with the gutter paint!

Helllo,
First post in ages!! Finally started to put back together my series 3 as I've painted my galv chassis and bulkhead. I've been reading a few bits online about stainless steel nuts and bolts and I'm slightly confused now as to whether I should be using them or not. Its my first rebuilt...

The motor was an rtc3867 does that sound right for the age of the Landy? Dam hoped it wasn't that but it worked ok before I took the old one out. Also may sound stupid but I havent actually attached the cable from the wipers to the motor yet, just plugged it in. Would that cause it not to park...

Hello, just got a new wiper motor from paddocks for my 1982 Landy 90. Only one sort of fell apart. Anyway just plugged my new one in and it's won't go off. When in the off position on the stalk its on speed one. One speed one it's fine and speeds up when on speed to. Any ideas why it wnot turn...

Thanks for the replies. The rust is on the passenger side of the windscreen and is right next to the windscreen hinge (on the inside of the hinge). Going to strip the dash down this weekend and have a look and see what I can see. I will post up some photos of my finding.
When you say...
