Hey all,
Having to replace my aerial on my '06 TDI (old style dash) and don't have the luxury of taping the old and new together to pull through the rubber seal in the engine bay.
I've seen a couple of posts that mention having to strip out the dash. Is this the case or can I drill a new...

Morning all.
I have one of those Sterling Touch Car Immobilisers (see pic) on my 2006 TD5 90.
This morning it didn't work.
Have you any ideas as to how I can remove it at all.
Much appreciated,
Kevin

Handy little guide I pulled from the web prior to buying my TD5. Hope it helps.

Bought mine in February this year. A '06 TD5 90 Hardtop. Love it! Engine wise there's not too much I would want to play with, but I did change over the starter motor easily enough.
I done a good bit of research prior to buying mine though. I made up a decent 'What to look for' guide from what I...

Not the head gasket kind of smoke Jonnyb.
Johnlad, that sounds about right. Fitted the new maf and will try it out once the engine cools. Will keep you posted.
Thanks for the info.

Bit of history.
2006 TD5 with 55000 on the clock.
Had issues with the MAF and disconnected it for better performance.
Recently though, in the morning or when the engine is cold, when I turn over the engine and depress the accelerator I get no/low revs until a big cloud of smoke kicks out...

Filter itself looks fine (Flat type) So yeah, I believe it to be the MAF. Can anyone recommend a brand? Have seen various prices. Don't want to buy a dud....
Cheers again,

Thinking about this more. I'm going to remove the air filter and re-fix the air flow meter. This should tell me if there is a fault in the meter or if the filter is clogged...

Do I need it???
Had the 90 in for a check over and discovered the air filter meter is goosed. Mechanic unplugged it and the performance of the engine increased massively.
Is it worthwhile getting it fixed or can I realistically wait till the next service is due?
2006 TD5 90.
Cheers...

Worth thinking about Arj. Still, I thought decking it out in 12mm ply first then fitting the insulated rubber mats would have given it a better finish. Will have to reconsider..
Cheers.

Hey all,
Looking for another little newby advice please.
I've just bought some rubber topped insulation for the back of the hardtop. Question is, should I fit it out with ply first or lay it straight onto the body?
Sounds daft I know....
Cheers,
Kev
