Have you noticed it more when cornering if so it could be the tyres as mentioned above especially as I note you have replaced the vcu bearings you obviously had that problem. I bought one recently and it had all that work done and had the road noise and more so when cornering so thought nothing...

Just had my 2001 Freelander TD4 MOT tested the other day and passed with flying colours in NI here and its a fairly tight test. I noticed when they had all four wheels of the ground and turned the front NS wheel by hand that the two rears also turned Idid not notice the front os turning though?

Thanks A I had it apart and saw what you mention only I thought someone may have known a way to remove the gear wheel now I know thats not possible so I have got my answers in otherwards if the gear wheel is messed like mine its a new or s/hand motor.
