BF GOODRIDGE T/A KO help for newbie

Back to the original question..... Shouldn't the original tyre size be 255/65/16 - not 225/65/16?

rear view mirror is it bust??

OK, my mistake. I didn't do the background check. The later mirror can be fitted to the earlier mount by cutting and swapping the support bracket at the ball joint. It's a bit fiddly, but I have done it.

rear view mirror is it bust??

If you have the later type (CTB100220L), there may be no adapting atall. The MG/ROVER part is CTB100220 - without the "L". Looking at your photo., I think that you have the later one. I have an MG/ROVER part here, as a spare, if you need some details.

rear view mirror is it bust??

If you don't mind doing a bit of "adapting", the MG/Rover 75 Auto Dim mirror is identical and cheaper. Loads on ebay!

EAS pump dished washers - which way up?

Brilliant! Many thanks for the quick answer. That's another job I can tick off the list.

EAS pump dished washers - which way up?

I thought I'd replace the EAS pump mounts. RAVE says to make a note of the correct orientation of the dished washers, but without saying or showing clearly what it should be! After 15 years I cannot be certain that mine are still correctly fitted. In fact, there are marks that suggest they...

Brake pedal switch contact sequence (ABS/ETC problem).

Thanks for the quick reply. The Nanocom reports both switches as changing from "CLOSE" to "OPEN" as the pedal is pressed. Looking at the wiring diagram, I think that this is the correct action for the WABCO D system, but the operating point of Switch 2 is clearly wrong. I can imagine that...

Brake pedal switch contact sequence (ABS/ETC problem).

I have a long standing problem with an occasional ABS/ETC Traction Failure fault on my 1999 DSE (with 4-wheel ETC). Sometimes, after a mild "urban" braking (for a junction, pedestrian crossing etc.) the above fault lights and messages will appear. The brake pedal will often pulse - as with...

    'Foam' filter stuff!

I was looking at this stuff on eBay: BLACK NEOPRENE PLAIN SPONGE/FOAM RUBBER SHEET VARIOUS SIZES 1.5mm - 12mm THICK | eBay Can anyone advise if it's suitable or not? This isn't suitable as a filter. It is closed-cell foam - good for packaging. You would need open-cell foam.

    HEVAC erratic

There is a known problem with HEVAC unit JFC102400 fitted to vehicles with VIN WA381431 to XA417600 (see Technical Bulletin A/C 0011). The symptoms sound similar (I had the same sort of symptoms, but occurring more randomly). I am not sure if your car is in the affected range. The fault is in...

Engine Oil Cooler pipes & cooler

I did this job last year. I bought replacement pipes, expecting problems, but then managed to undo the old connections. I was doing several jobs over a few days and had time to use a combination of WD40 and penetrating oil.

    Steering Wheel

Use a small mirror (and head torch?) to find the screws and line-up the torx driver. Well worth doing - it feels so much posher than the ordinary leather!!

    Alpine Radio

Unless there is something really odd going on with the wiring in the car, it is probably a problem in the radio. Assuming that it is caused by damp, could you take the radio out of the car and put it somewhere warm and dry for a day or two (airing cupboard)? Trusting that you have the radio...
