    Just a quick post to tell you the Defender is cured, "Redex DIesel System Cleaner" was put in the tank this morning and after 10 min the engine was getting better. I took it for a 15 mile run and I have never felt it running better. This was a chance decision to try until my IP removal tool...

    But it has been running fine since the belt change, unless it has jumped a tooth. I have only driven it 12 miles since the belt change.

    I have done that, and i actually thought at the time that the turbo should have been a lot easier to spin. That is why i took the pipe off last night again and it was spinning well on tick over.

    The cam belt was changed by a garage a week ago, no black dust visible and the fuel supply trick,I will try that at the weekend.

    When it is running at 1800,,pouring out smoke,I can remove intercooler hose and it makes no difference.
