Just picked my 97 300TDi auto up from havingt some work done only to run out of diesel on the way back in the middle of nowhere. Got back and was going to go back with gallon of diesel but dont know if I need to prime the engine handbook says I do . Will it start without this any ideas ...

Thanks guys, Ive cleaned all the pins and removed the wires and ensured there tight in the back of the socket. When I reasembled it was getting about 10.5 volts on both indicator pins thought I'd cured it but tried it on the trailer and still no right indicator flashing will have to look at...

My 97 Disco 300TDi Auto seems to have a problem with the towbar electrics . borrowed a horsebox from a friend it all seemed to work ok but no right indicator on the trailer, checked bulb in trailer, it was fine and was also power to it when the indicator was turned on to the trailer indicator...

I will give the 4x4 specialist in Banbury if you like to find out exactly what wiring they replaced to solve the problem. There really helpful people I'm sure he wouldn't mind chatting to you either about the fault. It's EH Douglas in Wardington near Banbury.

Hi Mark, I commented back down the thread I had very similar problem with 300Tdi Auto with what seemed the same the power loss problem. After leaving it at "alleged 4x4 specialist" who spent 3-4 hours and could not find the fault and told me they needed more time to search for the fault. I...

If it's any help guys I'm in Wellesbourne near warwick glad to pick it up locally and store and a neighbour travels to work in Rugby daily from here if you want it dropping their.

Hey Mark, Be interested to know how you get on with this have very similar problem on my 300TDI Auto Diesel. Had the fault codes checked and the "Suposed 4x4 specialist" spent 3 hours on it and only cleaned the airflow meter and tighten loose connector on air flow ducting know the fault...

Well, I'm still no further forward with this having little mechanical experience ! The 4x4 garage say they have spent 3-4 hours and still havn't isolated the fault and need to spend more time maybe a day too try and get to the bottom of it but still can't guarantee to find it the labour rate...

Thanks all I think the local garage proably meant the sedimentor not the fuel filter, sorry. It's now over at Allabout4x4 near Redditch in Worcestershire. Phoned them up and they thought they could sort it no problem. However after three days and looking at in between their other jobs havn't...

Decided last week I should have my 97 300tdi Discovery serviced (basic service oils filters etc. Had her two months and running fine just occasionally she lost power when cruising at about 2,500 revs and revs counter would drop 3/ 5 hundred revs for a split second this didnt have all the time...

Intersting thread guys, My sub in my 300tdi doesnt work fitted new radio/cd head. So if anybody upgrading their sub like this wants to sell their old sub woofer speakers and amp (working of course) :D let me know Thanks
