Intercooler only work on turbocharged engines, since they cool down the air from the charger. A location with good ventilation is essential for good results.

Also had that water problem and got a new head gasket.... problem solved. You should check the cylinder head while it´s out. Changing the whole engine is way too much!

I´ve also blanked it but didn´t feel much difference. I´ve also made the blanking plate myself by using the gasket to cut out the plate from a copper sheet (1mm thickness) and drilled the two holes for the screws.

I have a MY99 Defender and it is quite a hassle to use 2 types of keys,one for the door and the other for the ignition. I wonder if anyboby ever thought of a conversion kit, I think it would sell!!

I would say it is the wheel bearing. Lift up the wheel and rock it.

The temperature gauge is dynamic, as on most modern cars, that means it will not move unless it overheats, just as it moves very quickly to the middle when starting up. I suggest it is the head gasket... is there any oil in the water? Do you have to top up the reservoir?

hi there from Brazil, São paulo. got a couple of landys... a Td5 disco (which is up for sale) and 2 defender 110 and a 110 pickup. Using them for work and also for green laning, great fun and hardly ever have any problem (that is excluding the Disco)
