Here in good old N ireland its different as MOT is done at a government testing center not at an approved local garage, and as i say put my de-catted freelander through a couple of weeks ago and no problems at all

simple as. i have no issue with the other 59 companies AF broker for only the company that treated the OP so badly and flux for not doing more to resolve the issue.
AF as the broker were happy to take money for providing a service that it seams failed to materialize so wont do business with...

No i just need to know the name of 1 insurance company and AF the other 59 insurance companies they deal with or broker for had nothing to do with this

having just read this entire thread and having insurance due for renewal in less than a month i know where i wont be going for a quote, i find the whole thing shocking and the lack of a suitable outcome is horrendous, think all the insurance parties involved should hang their heads in shame :(

there should be a groove in the back of the water pump that the o ring sits into any rubber o ring that size with a little liquid gasket to hold it in place while you put the pump in, the pump assemble has 3 0 rings all together as far as i remember

similar to what just happened to my mates td4 to begin with it started fine cold but took an age when warm, then just kept getting harder to start eventually it just cut out and refused to start again, turned out to be a faulty injector and has been fine since it was replaced

first of all you need to pop over to the introduce yourself section and introduce yourself
second of all the cat is in the exhaust at the front u can't really miss it so has probably had a de cat this is fine on the older l series engine but im not sure about on a td4
best bet is to do a forum...

got the freelander back from the garage after having the core plugs replaced to find coolant pouring out from the water pump so new pump ordered just waiting for it to turn up then quick service and in for MOT
