my battery's gone flat and a friend told me if i disconnect it to charge it then it would un-code my immobiliser and it wouldn't run. But i was told by another friend that i've got nothing to worry about. Can anyone help pls?

hi there. can anyone help? i was driving my 300tdi when i lost all drive, with no knocks or bangs. she'll still select low range and drive well through all 5gears but in hi range i get nothing. does anyone know what this problem could be?? thanks
