I am in scotland. I would be Ok with you posting the long sill strip either taped to a piece of wood or in a tube (like when I order fishing rods) I have attached a photo so you can see exactly the parts needed

Hi, I have dented the nearside rear sill of my Freelander 1 TD4, it is a 5 door pre facelift. The damage is being repaired by a local body shop because the weather makes it impossible for me to attempt it. My problem is that that the black plastic sill end cap (a continuation of the rear wheel...

Hi Thanks for both replies, I am frustrated that, in my opinion, there is nothing now available on the market that fits my needs anywhere near as well as my existing TD4. So I pretty much agree with both your comments. I note your views on the Freelander2. I had rejected the Disco Sport as far...

My 2003 Freelander1 TD4 is now 20 years old. I have had it for 16 Years. mileage now 126K. It is serviced regularly by an independent LR specialist that I trust. Generally it is in very good order but it is increasingly costly to maintain. I do some jobs myself (electric window replacements...

For some reason I didn't see all of Nodge68's reply but now that I have I think he has covered the possibilities pretty well. I am going to go ahead and drill out the offending screws as there is no chance of unscrewing them. Thanks to all who replied

Thansk for your reply, I hwasn't aware of these kits. I don't know how long they have been around for but I know the existing number plate hasn't moved since 2007. If it wasn't an anti theft then it certainly is now (due to rust)

they are definitely screwed on but do you remember if they were machine screws into a tapped hole or just self tappers. The heads of mine are very rusted and there is no option but to drill them out. I suppose if I can use double sided tape or even pop rivets to put the new one on?

Hi This is a pretty trivial question but does anyone know how the front number plate is held on?
I want to replace the number plates as they are faded and stained. I am assuming the rear one is just glued on and will need to be carefully prised off. The front one is held on by two screws but...

Just a bit more feedback on this Paddock Spares say their website price needs to be changed as they can no longer source the item at the price on the website. famous Four quote £400.00, LR Series can't be reached by phone and as yet no reply from them. It looks like the price is now around £400...

Hi Arctic2, thanks for your reply. FamousFour don't seem to have any but I have left a message with them asking for a quote. I don't want to spend £420 from Rimmer Bros (same price as land Rover themselves who still offer the part) when there are ones from LR Series and Paddocks for less than...

I think I need to replace the sliding glass assembly in my Freelander 5 door 2003 TD4. The part number is EFT500070. There is a very large range of prices from UK LR parts dealers (not Ebay sellers) between £140 and £420 for this part. Clearly branding is different. Does anyone have any recent...

I checked the brake drum on the drivers side - it was OK
Can't really see how a stone could defy gravity and go up the tailpipe and even then tapping the back box would surely make it rattle?
Off to local 4x4 specialist tomorrow to see what they make of it. The sound speeds up as you go faster...
