Pulling to the left when braking...Any ideas?

If your happy that you've bled the system correctly and your calipers are ok and it still does it, then think about your front shocks, also on mine the front offside coil spring had snapped but the way it remained seated wouldn't have given you any clue to this when you looked at it from the...

Well that didnt take long (ACE Light)

Does your Land Rover specialist have a courtesy car? If your best option now is to put the work their way and you're local then ask if they will collect your car and drop off the courtesy car at the same time. If they want or need the work in this financial climate they may go that extra mile to...

    Disco TD5 With ACE

Peter, If that gives you peace of mind and you've got the money there's no problem with that. Unfortunately for me I have a cynical mind and have already learned at my own expense that Land Rover like to take parts and commonly available service items, then place their name on them so they can...

    Disco TD5 With ACE

Why wouldn't you use Dexron fluid in the ACE and PAS, my ACE system was flushed through several times over with Dexron 3 until i was able to stop the leak as I described. It's all run fine since for about 15,000 miles now. Where in the reservoir is the filter ? I don't remember seeing one.

    Disco TD5 With ACE

You most probably have a leak somewhere as the fluid in the reservoir is low. You can use normal power steering/ auto transmission fluid but use one that meets Dextron 2 or 3 standards. Look at the ACE valve block, which is situated on the underside of the vehicle under the drivers seat. You'll...

Hi, new to discovery ownership, questions?

When you change the engine oil don't forget that you need to change the centrifugal oil filter every time (haynes manual recommends every 6000 miles but up until now I've changed mine roughly every 12000 with no engine problems at 120,000), also change the full flow oil filter, (the conventional...

Lots of new knowledge gained in the last year

Ok well I'll start with the auto gearbox on my TD5 and the dreaded s and m lights, these started coming on a couple of years ago very intermittently at first and then gradually getting more and more frequent with no apparent reason. My local independent expert and main dealer hooked it up to...

Lots of new knowledge gained in the last year

Hello all Disco owners, i havn't been on the forum for some time so I hope i'm typing in the right place. I spent a small fortune on my 02 Disco in the last year but also saved alot by ignoring Landrover dealer advice and doing jobs myself, learning as i went. I've got a fairly long list good...

    Another New boy

Hello all you helpful Landy owners and thanks for all the good advice that I've read on the forum so far. My name is Bucks and I live in south east London. I've got a 2002 Disco which despite the maintanence that it regularly seems to require, is still a pleasure to drive. However I have the...
