hello i have an 03 diesel freelander. it is always a bit sluggish to start taking 3/4 secs to start then in the cold weather it just refuses to start. i can bump start it down the hill and now it wont even start when warm. there is hissing sound coming from the pump area infront of the engine...

Before you try anything else, bleed the clutch fluid all the way through from the slave cylinder, so that you change the fluid. The fluid dosent stay good for ever

on the td4, landrover dealers recone the slave cylinder will take 12 hours cos its a gearbox off job so make sure that youve got the bleeding correct and bleed it out from the slave cylinder so that you are basicly changing the fluid.
