I’m using the lt77 from the discovery v8. Just converting to long stick which is the issue. I can use the turret off the defender lt77 but there’s an adaptor which I’m not 100% sure on how to fit
-
Just been looking on Ashcrofts. They do an adaptor for an r380 but not an lt77. Is it something simple to make up or can I get the part from elsewhere?
Thanks

Also I’m suffering withdrawals after selling my old v8 disco a few years ago. Absolutely adored it especially the loud button but I had 2 issues with it. The economy which is just part and parcel with a v8 and the loud button. And the god awful auto. At least with this setup I’ll be on a manual...

The 200 won’t be going anywhere any time soon. Wants a rebuild but would like to keep the 110 on the road and have at least a little fun. Only irreversible bit is the new engine mounts but even that can be corrected with a spot of welding
-
To confirm, for the gearbox mounts I can just use the centre crossmember from the discovery to get the gearbox mounts in the correct place? Thanks
-
Thanks for your input. Looking more of a valid project now with less risk. I’ll keep you updated when I make a start.

Ah it’s all making more sense now thanks!

Ok. But I’m looking at using the gearbox and bell housing from the discovery which is wrong to the defender anyway? It’s an lt77 manual
-
Also is the defender bell housing not shorter than the discovery one?
-
Ok. What would be the best way of going about it? Would the crossmember from the disco fit in place of the 110 one or would it be in the wrong place? I take it being slightly further forward would mean that the discovery pipe work would be a straight swap over? I assume I would need a different...

Hi all,
Having surrendered with the idea of welding up my v8 disco I bought as a project I now have a spare v8 engine with all the ancillaries. My 200tdi 110 is a getting a little long in the tooth so I’m now thinking maybe converting it to a v8.
My current thoughts are to fit the whole engine...

Bought both a boost pin and ring for my 90 and 110. Going to fit them to the 90 when it's back on the road so I can feel the difference. Fitted the boost pin to the 110 this weekend and it's made a huge difference. Lots more go with not much smoke except when under heavy load. I only trundle...

One other thing to note is that the drivers side window regulator has gone so it doesn't go all the way up but it isn't a huge job to repair. Also it only has one boot seat and the bumper is a little bent as well.
