First offroad outing - Traction Control
I'd expect a noise like the one you get if you pull away with one foot half way down on the accelerator, while the other foot is on the brake trying to restrict the vehicle speed to < 5 mph...... You do need an auto box to try this out  (63 views, 5 replies)

Hertfordshire Lanes?????
Ok well I am working on having a few quid for a night out on fri. I know Glenn will be up for it cos he always is! AND Phil is alway game! There's a ridgeway route that threatened to cause an issue when we drove it last from Princes Risborough. We've been looking for an excuse to try that again or there are a lot of routes in Herts! Only local stuff but maybe a few herts lanes? Perhaps Kev... (27,031 views, 2,027 replies)

Is Retrofit of cruise control to a manual 95 300 Tdi possible?
Remains to be seen Dave. Haven't pinpointed our new location yet. 1st 6 mnths will be in rented accomodation and we are going out in November to view properties and make a decision - can't do it yet cos properties for rent in January aren'r necessarilly around yet. If we end up on the coast then it'll be busy in tourist time but we may well end up a bit inland where hopefully the traff won't be... (97 views, 7 replies)

Id take it and run about in it wi a balaclava on (incase buster seen me) while the deepender is in for mot and some repairs, then flog it to pay for said repairs coz lets face it even a gaylander is better than an escort 55 van! (371 views, 15 replies)

Front swivel issues
Hiya Discopinky, the way I test for swivel bearing wear is as follows: 1. Have someone sat in the drivers seat ready, 2. Jack up the front end under the axle to get both front wheels off the ground; 3. rotten boot floor
Hi Darren, when you remove the bootfloor you'll probably find that you need both floor crossmembers and both flat plate tensioners. There are two part numbers for the crossmembers as listed below, don't get one of each (which is what you ultimately need!!) get two of part no.ALR8519 and grind off the plate for the brake hose plate. It's cheaper to do that!! Links:- Body_and_Panels Hope that... (352 views, 24 replies)
