Hi All
I had problem with my reverse light switch a few years ago due to selector yoke wear out. That time I modified the original switch by removing the original pin (which reaches the yoke when selecting reverse) and changed to a longer one made by a turner. At that time someone mentioned that a longer version is available, also inserted the ebay link, but it is not valid now.
In the meantime my switch started to playing up so time to search for alternative.
Anyone knows about this longer version?

The reverse light switch has only one p/n for R380: AMR3198 regardless if it's Defender D1 or D2 , i've seen this issue myself and one problem is that some cheap aftermarkets are shorter than genuines from factory but once there is wear inside de box even the genuine will not reach the notch so unless you fix the gearbox the only alternative is to use a long lever arm limiting switch like here: https://www.lrukforums.com/threads/r380-reversing-light-switch-alternative.254921/

not a bad ideea IMO

btw, the switch has a M14 x 1.5 thread and there are many types of such reverse switches so if you search enough you should find a longer one to fit there addapt the wiring and adjust it as necessary .... many improvisations are possible

Agree, this is why I have asked, because as I remember few years ago someone has found this solution but I can not find the post :-(
