On the disco 2 commercial, is there any access to the fuel pipes on top of the fuel tank other than dropping the tank?

Its a known issue for one of the pipes on top of the tank to rub through. Can be done with tank in place, put some garden hose over the new pipe when fitting and check the others and protect as well.

Yes, remove the metal strip that holds the edage of the carpet in place next to the bumper, then peel back the carpet from under the storage boxes to reveal a plate in the floor. Remove the plate to get access to the fuel pump and sender. You don't need to drop the tank. The biggest pain in the arse for me was uncoupling the pipes at the fuel filter end. Fortunately before i got around to replacing the pipes a chap knocked on my door enquiring if the Landy was for sale. So i sold it and handed the pipes to him! As HughDavies says, protect the new/existing pipes with garden hose to prevent chaffing in future.

Very neat!
You could of course just by an official Land Rover rubber mat for the area, if you are bovvad, though I don't think you are!
