Hi guys, after a little advise if anyone can help.
I've got a freelander 2 se sport auto 2010, I need to replace the engine.
The only half decent second hand engine with low mileage are from a manual, I know I will need to change flywheel but will my auto box fit on to a manual engine, are the bell housings on a manual the same as a auto. I don't want to purchase an engine that has had a manual box and my auto box won't fit because mounting points are different.

No idea personally, but I'd imagine experts on here would want to know for sure, like, is it petrol or diesel, rather than make any assumptions, like I dunno if SD4 and TD4 are that different, etc. If you don't know, some engine pictures might be nice...

Its a 2.2 td4 if that's helps

Yes, all engines are the same basic design, however there are differences between the TD4 and SD4. I've no idea what a Sport is (external trim maybe?), but if it's a TD4, that's the engine you need, it doesn't matter about the gearbox that was fitted. Low mileage isn't essential either, as with proper maintenance these engines are good for 300k miles.

Out of interest, why does it need another engine?

Thanks for the advice, managed to sorce a second hand engine for a reasonable price with low mileage.

After an eventful bank Holiday last weekend putting the new engine in and making sure all levels are topped up and everything all connected and bleed the fuel system making sure diesel is getting through to injectors.
The problem I have is that the engine cranks over nice and freely but the dame thing won't fire up, eml light is on and showing reduced engine performance on the dash, fault code is show P2562 – Turbocharger boost control position sensor circuit
would this fault cause a issue with the none start or is this only related to when the engine is running.
I've spent today changing over the high pressure pump and the throttle body as I've read that these can cause problems with none starting.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated as I'm at my wits end with this.
