Hi guys, I need some help, today while driving on motorway in the rain my windscreen wipers stopped working, they stopped a few times before failure, they randomly stopped in different positions before completely failing. I opened the bonnet to remove some plastic panels to see if any plugs had come off. When looking I found a plug just lying under the panel, not sure if this has anything to do with the wiper system. Any help would be great before going to LR garage. I've attached a few pics of the plug.

I don't know what the plug is but my wipers failed a few weeks ago and found that the nut holding the wiper arm onto the spindle needed nipping up, the spindle was moving but the arm slipping.

The way to access the wipers is to remove the wiper arms from the splined shafts, and then the panel that surrounds that lot can be removed .

its not a hard job and all is revealed including wiring and the actual mechanism itself, The links and ball joints are prone to go every 60k miles or so and are cheap to replace. Recommend getting spares in any case..

has good pictures of how to get to the guts and replace various bits.
