Im thinking of getting some wind deflectors for my 3 door freelander and have seen too sorts 1 stick on and 1s that got in the window recess. has anyone used either and which would you say is better

many thanks

I have the one's fitted into the window recess on mine, not had any problems with them.
They sit nice and snug, do their job very well.

I'm not a fan of the look of the stick on ones, I think they look a little out of place.

I have some Hekko ones on my 5 door that clip in. At night they make the A pillar feel twice as big. But you can have the window open in the rain a little, but saying that I use the air con when it rains.

I have the official climair slide in ones. Cant fault them at all really. The only thing you need to remember given the door is so long is that if you have them open more than an inch, the rain runs along the inside edge, and not into the cabin until right at the back and then makes your B pillar a little wet (fine on a 3dr cos its metal). This only occurs at motorway speeds tho.

I have the Hekko on my 5 door TD4.

They are the clip in ones.

They are ok, but I do have a problem with restricted vision sometimes as they are smoked and not clear.
Being tall probably doesn't help!

Hekko slip in for me. I love the factory look. The do thicken the A pillar but you get used to look around them. Otherwise they are well worth the modest outlay.

Sounds exactly the same as me.

I'm not particularly tall at only 6', but as you can't lower the seat it does make it difficult.

I have been thinking recently about heko clip ins for my disco td5,how do you find them?,fitment etc?

They fit nice and snug. They do make the A pillar fell much bigger though they are tinted, but that doesn't help much at night in town.

They do keep the rain out if you want the window open a little.

I have the Heko clip-in type, £40 from fleabay, top quality, they are great looking, easy to fit fitting almost flush with the car not sticking out like stick-ons do. Very happy with them! They dont look like a tacky cheap accessory but a tasteful addition to my car. Its true they take some getting used to in terms of visibilty, but like most things you adapt to it quickly.

I have been looking at these as a future add on, the amount of water that runs off the roof in the morning and over me via an open windows is a pain, and the rain does get in when driving too
Tho I think I would prefer slightly wider ones as it sit out from the car body a little more

I hate it when my window is open a little and I wash the wind screen, I always forget that the water comes flying inside ... hopefully these will fix the issue of getting wet lol
