Default why is a new maf causing so many problems

hello

every maf i have put on my 98 diesel freelander is causing it to self rev i have used 3 new maf's and 1 used bosch maf but all make it run fast. is their anything else attached to the maf that could be at fault.?????

every time i unplug the maf it runs fine

Yer not usin the bosch one without a modification are yer?
The original pierburg MAF has an air temp sensor incorporated !

Also avoid the shite cheapo stuff off Fleabay !

mondo, I think you might have got it the wrong way round the bosch is the original with the air temp sensor incorporated and the pierburg does not.

you can use the pierburg MAF with Rover rons tuning box.
