That poor car (before i buy it) drives a few thousands km with solenoid damaged, so no work of VVC. We try to actuating it manually with some cleaning chemicals, and with using external vacuum pump but it still not working smooth and block...

I guess there is a point of no return. Did mine again today and it's still working well. When I first did it it must not have worked at all as the car was very flat. Get a bigger turbo ;)

Some times this can be saved by actuating it by hand for a few days in a row. I do mine twice a year, or just when ever I am under the car in the right area and it's always good now. I normal hook a rig spanner over the rod and work it fully about 50 times.

Worth a shot if it's just coked up

This is a common fault with the VW VVT's as well only real cure is to remove / strip / clean, and then reassemble with only the very lightest lubrication when everything is freed off and working smoothly with no tight spots.

At least the hippo turbo is easier to get at than a RR full size or sport :) the linkage on the LHS turbo seizes !!

Put new battery cos previous were to small and very old, but alternator is fried now. What a piece of sh##!!

this is first competition of our winter triathlon under Land Rover auspices - Smashing your alternator by hammer... The next competitions are : Time sprint with 25 kg battery and precise shooting to previous owner of this marvelous model.
Unfortunately, no podium places in smashing...

So order a few bits :
-AC Shnitzer M47 Garret turbocharger
-New 150 Amp alternator
-2x front halfshafts
-A set of items to put new turbo in place properly (studs, bolts, oil pipes blah blah blah 200 quid for all)

Another 500 went oud... maybe it will drive now?
Oh.. it won't
Front brakes also f!!@#! another 550

Over and out.

Saturday inspection of replacement turbocharger - before Monday fitting. No backslashes , VNT works with finger touch, case is clean and healthy.
Fitted with new accessories from my British friends should work fine :D

Direct from Santa Perpètua de Mogoda, 12 yrs old fog light kit. Still unopened and unused :D

Love that job :D

I bought a similar set, brand new and in the box like yours, only with the V6 lamps and brackets. (bought the correct ones on the bay of many things.:) )

Quick question. I followed the instructions to the letter when I installed it, however the fogs will only operate with the lights in position 0 (Because of the mandatory daylight driving lights here in Norway) and in with the lights on. Not when the light switch is positioned with only side lights on the fogs will not work... My kit was from the US, perhaps there is some difference between the countrys? If you could drop me a line either here or in a PM when you have installed your kit, I would be most grateful! :)

Love your car and the build threads by the way!Well done!:)
