Picture 1 is an earth plug. This is where lots of earth connections are made. There are several of these all over a Freelander.
Picture 2 I would guess as moulding blanks. Nothing should be there in the Freelander application.

An earthing plug..... I would never have guessed that thanks....will it unplug?......as for the fuse box the one at the top is just a moulding blank but the one at the bottom actually has metal pins coming out of it? Not actually tested if there is anything on them...is this a molding blank too but with pins?

The earth plug isn't designed to be unplugged but I guess it's possible. I've got cables in that connection in my fuse box.
Mine is the V6.

The first picture is of a Ground/ Earthing splice or busbar. There are several of them scattered around the Freelander. If you need to use a ground wire, just undo the nut and fit a M6 eyelet crimp connector to the wire and secure it with the nut.

The items indicated in picture 2 you don't need to worry about or lose sleep over them

:)

I wonder what the cables are for on your V6 model? You also have a 15amp fuse where mine is missing.;)
