2003 1.8 freelander. washers not working. no noise from the pumps. Is this a common thing and would it be more likely to be the stalk or the motors themselves. Neither one is working, wipers are all fine though. Would I have to take the wheel off to get to the inner wig to get to the washers motors ? Or can I remove the head light and get to them that way ?
I would like to post in the wanted section for some new motors and other parts but it tells me I don't have permission to post there ?

just take the inner plastic arch off and you can get to them check it is not the fuse though before hand funny if front and back have gone ,silly question but you have got water in have you?

Can you point me in the direction of the possible multi plug and shared earth please ? Couldn't find any wiring that looked like it went to the washers.
I'm trying to avoid getting my hands dirty here

Wear gloves ...

Sell the Landie ...

Get some other poor twerp to do the work ...

bloody hell, what a price difference ! Not paying that for a pump if they only last 166000 miles.....

I had an odd one with my washers last year. My fronts failed so I bought a new pattern pump (supposedly Brearmach from the auction site) but that didn't work (but if connected direct to battery it did).

In fact with it connected the rear washers didn't work either...

Point being, try disconnecting one at a time to see which ones gone TU, they are just about accessible without taking the bumper off.

In the end I took a punt on a used genuine rear pump, and that works fine (I reasoned rear ones are used less).

I don't know for sure but I would have thought they would pump at different rates as the rear washer only has one jet and the front has four jets.

Good call Bizzie. I was looking at looking a it today but I found another problem which forced me to have a cuppa and a fag, and give up.
