transmech clutch

had a clutch fitted 18 momths ago not a cheap one gone again, are the transmech ones ok, must last longer than 18months

Dunno, I am looking at prices for a clutch kit and solid flywheel for mine and the transmech kit at euro car parts is £275 compared to £400-odd for a valeo one.
I did a little googling and found plenty of forum posts (non-landrover) of people who have had transmech clutch discs fail within a few hundred miles.

Granted, there are probably hundreds of people who have fitted them with no problems and you dont read about that online, but the failure rate looks a little too high for my liking.

I reckon I will pony up the extra pennies for a Valeo kit.
