Evening all

I'm thinking of getting my windows tinted and have been quoted £200 from a local Reading firm
Has anyone else had theirs done but not from the main dealer?
Does £200 sound reasonable?

Cheers

Are they still good? Not bubbled or peeling?
That's the only thing I'm thinking, is how long would they last

Cheers

Defo get them done professionally. I had the back ones on my previous 3dr done in limo black (due to no parcel shelf) for £150 4 years ago and they were perfect after 2 years when I sold it. Don't be tempted to do it yourself, you see a lot of naff home done jobs out there.

£200 for a professional job is around the right ballpark, see examples of their work if you;re unsure, most companies have a demo car, one of their own cars, that they've tinted

Mine were professionally done for £180 and carry a guarantee for the life of the vehicle, even for a minor scratch. Went for 5% (limo) as I've got a cream interior and anything lighter meant you could still see through it quite easily! :)

Not bad £180 for sides using 2 different shades lighter on fronts and tailgate than on rear passenger windows and that was 3 years ago

I've always wondered about tinting. I have a camera that records through the rear tailgate door glass. If I had a darker tint, would it still be able to record anything?

I'm also worried about seeing out at night through the windows. Due to it being illegal to do the drivers and passenger door windows on mine,i Iwould only contemplate the rear doors, the side windows to boot and rear tailgate window glass.

Did mine myself. Good quality film, I used 3M, and a lot of time, you should get a decent result. Took me around 6 hours to finish all 5 windows. Lots of water and heat gun action to get the result I wanted. :)

Good enough for a old car. :)
