TD4 Hard to fill with diesel. fixed

Having read some old threads I'm happy to report that my incredibly slow to fill 54 plate is fixed.
Just ran the tank low then disconnected the filler neck at the bottom and removed a piece of plastic That was obstructing the tank entry
10 mins. Happy days

funny enough saw one if them ages ago and think its an anti syphon device

mines a 2002 and maybe they only fitted it in the later models as ive never had problems with filling the tank

That's the anti syphon to stop people nicking your fuel

Mine has a drain plug so anti siphon a waste of time

Its a anti ministry device to stop them dipping the tank for red diesel

just be careful how far you put the gun into the tank I have no problem ,do not try to put it in all the way

It made no difference. It got to the point where anymore than half a squeeze of the trigger would be too much as the diesel was coming back up the neck. All good now tho
