Well on Friday we went down to an antiques fair at Peterborough and as we came out I saw that I had a puncher in my back wheel so we put some of that tyre sealer and it is supposed to pump it up as well, well it did not, a man came over and asked if he wanted him to change it for me yes please as both of us suffer from bad backs and it would save the aa a trip.
well would you believe it the spare was half flat and it was a Michelin syncrones and the tyre on are latitudes I had for gotten to get a latitude on the spare , I was told there was a quick fit just up the road (3 miles) so we got there and they said it was £26.50p to have a puncher repaired I said ok he looked at it got his tape out and said yes it could be repaired as it was within the limits , but then he noticed the white stuff coming out and he stopped saying they would not repair it, as he said the stuff I had put in would rot the tyre and they wanted nothing to do with it ,BUT he said they had some tyres in that size did I want one I said no telling him that to mix tyres would ruin the vcu diff and ird and on our way we went I was hot as the sun had come out and guess what the sun roof stuck in the vent position now I have had trouble with that sun roof since we had the car and they said it was out of the warranty , so today I took it apart and there is some items missing and broke, so that's what the problem was all the time
so also today I let the LR garage know why it had never worked properly and ordered a latitude tyre of my local tyre place as they fixed the puncher as well (£8.50) I asked about the sealer in it they said no problem. and guess what puncherd the tyre you will never guess so I better tell you it was part of the rear lens of a car that had been in a smash and I had seen on the way there in the morning dark light , one thing I will never ever go to quick fit ever again!
now just got to buy some sunroof parts.

I used Viking tyre seal some years ago. Watched a 6 inch nail being hammered into a tratter tyre at the lro show. He then spun the tyre on it's frame mount, then pulled the nail out and it sealed. It had over 50 puncture seals and still had a good amount of air in it after all those demo's that day. Having put some in mine I tested it before going for new tyres. Run the tyre done the road by hand then put a 2 inch nail in it. The sod never sealed, despite rolling it again and then putting the hole at the bottom. It just ****ed out through the hole. So I didn't bother to use it again. Most councils use it in their ride on lawn mowers. Probably a betterer brand. When getting the tyres replaced I warned them it was in all 5 tyres but they didn't seem bothered.

+1 on crappy Kwik-fit. Quoted me £80 for a puncture; when I questioned this he said 'oh, sorry, I meant £60. I said forget it.

Decided to get 2 tyres for the FL from them at the same time, as our local tyre place was shut (£12 for a puncture there, please note) and the fronts were balding. Kwik Fit quoted £120 each (for normal roadies - ouch). I said go ahead, and made as if to walk out to get the car but the nerdy lad at the desk stopped me and insisted I answered questions about the car while he filled in a bloody form!

When I came back the bill was much higher than expected - the b@stards had charged me for stupidities like valve, nitrogen inflation and balancing which I consider part of tyre fitting and hence part of the original quote. I didn't even ask for nitrogen.

My local tyre place charges me much less, includes everything in the quote and doesn't ask me my life history before taking on the job.

Kwik Fit - Sh!t Fit.

as said my local tyre place £8.50 for puncher I should have learned years ago when they first came out I had a Cortina and could not get the shocks off as I needed to change the springs so took it to them and they did the job and at the same time I had a new exhaust on 2 weeks later the exhaust was coming loose so took it back a different man was there he tightened the exhaust back up and then he said you want new shock absorber on the front (the ones I had done) I said ok you can do them but you are paying he went mad and said why I told him I had one had them done 2 weeks ago at the same depot he said oh it must be a bit of grease on them and I have not been back since then last weekend was stuck and had to go , but had nothing done just pumped the spare up and went home.
