Stuttering Exhaust

Hi guys my 1.8k series sounds as though it it stuttering through the back back box whilst idling, its difficult to describe it properly but it is as though the flow from the exhaust is not constant and it is sort of a low pop pop pop sound, it seems to idle ok and feels smooth whilst sitting in the cabin but with the bonnet open the engine looks as though its bouncing slightly. Is this normal?

sounds like it's misfiring to me, whizz your plugs out and have a look

I have fitted some new plugs and leads but its still the same!

the leads went back in the correct order?

was it doing this before you swapped the plugs and leads?

yes it was doing this before which is the reason I decided to swap them, I swaped the leads one at a time so I made sure they went in the right place

does yours have a dizzy

Yes it is the dizzy cap version

have you taken it off to check the internal condition

if thats ok at least you'll have illiminated the ignition from the search

Probably the rotor arm and dizzy cap together, you will need a short cross head screw driver for the rotor arm i bet it has all the points on it coverd in a whiteish hard stuff just scrap it off but realy you need a new one, that reminds me my wifes car does as well.
