sorry guys another thread on tailgate.

My tailgate lock jamed open and give it a good knock and it closed again.
is it the micro switch in the handle that needs replaced then

Normally its the switch in the latch not the handle

So would i have to replace the lock or is there a micro switch in the lock that can be replaced on its own.

Sounds like the springs in the handle need a check - probably the same problem thats causing yer tailgate glass not to go up when closing tailgate.

Thanks for that link on the 2 springs, i will start with that and see if that makes
it better and if not then i will look for a new mech lock and be done with it.
i can live with it at the moment with giving it a knock to get the door closed.
the wife would have trouble doing so, i will get the springs this week.
it was the passenger rear door, now the tail gate. starting to be a love hate affair

Mine was sticking open like that, but after several light slaps on the door it would release. Read somewhere on here that slackening off the fixing screws and then notching them back up again (but not as tight as they were) would solve the problem.
Perhaps I was lucky, but it sorted mine and it works first time, everytime now!
