Smokey td4

Hi guys as above 53 plate td4 was getting a lot of smoke on start up and after running for a few minutes the idle became very erratic and lots of grey/blue smoke as well pulling away at roundabouts and junctions was at best terrifying on occasion so did a search and found loads of great posts and loads of ideas, so of I went tools in hand (enough now lads) started with dismantling and cleaning EGR valve and inlet manifold god was that filthy, checked all hoses and they were all fine so disconnected airflow meter plug but made no difference, so not that then, other posts pointed to a faulty injector so took it to country rovers around the corner and it turns out it was no.1 injector and it was a bit of pig to get out apparently but now its done its like a new car the difference is amazing, got them to change the diff oil and gearbox oil at the same time, at 70000 miles its probably not been done before. so thanks to everyone who commented and advised on the old posts as always the knowledge on here is invaluable.

I was going to suggest a faulty injector, but you beat me to it! I had a similar problem with mine at about 120,000 miles.

Hopefully it's not going to a case of when one goes the others start to go cos that's going to be rather expensive.
