Second hand instriment cluster

Hi all.
Have decided to replace the instrument cluster with a second hand one off e-bay for £30. Can someone tell me if the mileage is stored in the vehicle ccu/ecu or is it stored within the instrument cluster itself ie my vehicle has done 80,000 and the replacement cluster has 61,000 so when I put the new cluster in will it show 61,000 or 81,000 or will it show 114,200 as its added both mileages together.

Never changed it on the Freelander, but on other cars I've done, it uses the mileage on the cluster, not the car.

Mileage on the freelander is stored in the instrument pack and can be updated via T4

make sure you get the right one for your car because of the different lay out of the dash.

And get yourself a calculator.
