rocker/cam cover gasket

can any one tell me torque settings for my cam cover gasket on my freelander 1.8 , thanks

Gasket goes on dry, you can degrease the mating faces first if your so inclined.

Most definitely dry that's the idea of a gasket to take any irregularities between the mating surfaces. It's easy to put on and stays more or less in place when laying the cam cover on it

You could try nipping the bolts up a fraction, they have been known to be left a bit loose from the factory on occasion. As said above, the new gasket goes on dry. Provided both surfaces are clean and dry that should be job jobbed. Oh don't over tighten the bolts

Hi did u do it and was it easy? I got a new one for mine but not attempted it yet

Very easy job.

Only requires an 8mil on a quarter drive iirc and a rag.

very easy indeed , and stopped oil leak in to plug

Cheers shall attempt mine at wk end if its dry

cheers for that now how about the camshaft oil seal , cam belt end , how easy to change
