Hi everyone,
Have got a 2004 frelander HSE, great motor so glad i bought it. Until the cd player/headunit stoped working. Tried to replace it with new one, but hit a wall when trying to get addaptor leads. It has the HarmonKardon system, CD multichanger, Steering wheel controls & Sat nav built in to head unit. Sounds great when working.
Landrover in Swansea are asking £1700 for replacement head unit, thats right £1700 shocking!
No one wants to touch it locally for less than £1000. Is there anyone out there who can help, seems a waste to rip it all out.

grab a coffe and have a read of the thread a few down the list that was started by anguslives! about double din installs!! there are four of us doing/done them but the thread is full of good info.

so what are you looking to do?? cjust replace the head with original or change for a new one?

Just looking to replace for a new one, the unit that came out was'nt much cop when working. Needs upgrading.
Just one thing have'nt got a clue about double din installs or what they are.

I almost bought an HSE with that ICE system prior to getting the TD4 I have and wasn't overly impressed with the built in sat nav, stand alone units are so much better :)

IMO best just removing and replacing with a decent aftermarket head unit with built in blue tooth for phone calls and music streaming :)

If you just want to replace the Becker Sat Nav unit then thats easy because its got standard ISO connectors so pretty much any aftermarket single din unit will fit. As for the cd changer you should be able to get an adapter for it to fit the new head unit and as for the HK system it will work ok :)

That looks very nice indeed. Doesn't look out of place. I take it that one of the china ones mentioned in the Double Din thread?
