Apart from the Distributor cap and air intake is there any where else in the Engine bay that I should protect from water. Everytime I go off road and go through a large puddle the engine starts to loose power. After about 10 mins and its dried out its fine again. Its the 1.8 petrol obviously!!

Alternator is a must, battery terminals as water on top of the battery can cause a short between the terminal posts.
any connections under the bonnet like injection rail plugs etc etc, ensure that the ht leads are tight on the spark plugs too as the can short to the block and cause a weak spark or no spark at all
