Default Possible engine mount....?

When in gear and driving, I get a vibration through the gear stick. It wobbles about 1.5 inches left to right, and the vibration can be felt through the clutch pedal, steering wheel and seat.
So my question is, is it a possible engine mount loose, or something different? Tried searching, but the results I found didn't have the same symptoms as mine.
Another thing, is there a way to take some "slack" from the clutch pedal? It moves about 1inch before there is any resistance at all.

check VCU isn't getting warm, could be mismatched tyres and/or tight vcu causing it. Also check off side front drive shaft for play in the CV joints. Check lower engine steady (attached to IRD and lower subframe)

Compared to my vectra c, yes, very very stiff. But i was lead to believe, by the garage I bought it from, that it was heavy due to having a heavy duty clutch being a 4x4. But I'm not sure what you would call heavy, I have no problems depressing it, but I'm 6foot 4 and 120Kg.

Cheers for that mate. It does have different tyre patterns front and back, I need to do the VCU torque test, ment to do it Saturday but unforeseen circumstances stopped me! I will have a look at the drive shaft, and IRD mount. Cheers.

The garage you bought it from is talking twaddle. The Freelander clutch is not heavy to operate and should feel as light as an 'ordinary' car. My other half is half your weight and more than a foot shorter and has no probs operating hers. Your clutch is needing attention.

What do you suggest I do then? Strip the clutch and take a look?

Been busy with work and not near computer. Have a look at the actuating arm, it can stick or bend giving poor travel. Then it's the slave cylinder which can give out then lastly the clutch fingers themselves.
