hi would anyone be able to tell me which is the correct pinion bearing for freelander 2.0xedi. i have bought a tzz100140, but have now seen sites saying it is tzz100150. also can i replace pinion bearing and seal with diff in situ. cheers steve.

you need both pinion bearings should be replaced in pairs ,need diff out to do it properly, iirc tzz140 is inner bearing and tzz100140 outer ,preload is set with crushable spacer so not just a matter of tightening nut

You wrap string around the output flange and connect the end to the balance, pull the balance (gently) and watch the gauge when the flange starts to turn this is the reading you want. Increasing the tightness of the pinion nut will increase the resistance and also increase the preload on the bearing.

not exactly its after its started , pull to start turn is greater than once moving
