hi

Trying to get all the small jobs done on the car.

the passenger central locking stopped working

if i use the internal locking switch it doesnt do anything, if i use the key fob the door will lock but not unlock.

am i right in thinking its the motor gone, are you able to refurbish them or is it a new unit.

had a look to see if there were any loose wires etc and it looks a right pig to get it out with all the linkages etc.

thanks so much, i really do appreciate it

Solenoid probably needs replacing, mine started to pop up slowly on the drivers side rear so replaced it, if your methodical about it it's not that bad a job, I have no electrical training and I did it just laid everything out that I took off in order and used the Haynes manual and rave cd for reference. Part cost me £10 from a scrapped freelander.

Had a simular prob with mine but on drivers door. The solinoid cannot be repaired as its a sealed unit. I got one from scrap yard for £20 (3 door and 5 door are the same) and after getting very annoyed with the job got it back together and it worked. Quite fiddley to do, took me and my mate about 2 hours. Been fine ever since tho.
