There here and fitted prettydecent quality actually, bit fiddly to get on and possibly even abit big on the back Velcro side nothing scissors can't fix or maybe its just me not being patient enough lol

Top job, they look pretty good and would certainly smarten up my shabby looking blue door handles.

Yep deffo, tbh there's a massive lack of aftermarket parts for the freebie considering its such a big seller, my next project is to make a decent lid for the glove box/dash pocket, to tidy that area up... Wish I had a 3d printer it would be awesome..

I only usually polish my partners car or the classics we have. So seeing as winter is fast approaching us I thought it would be nice to get a bit of wax on it.

Its a little bit rural where we live and getting out of the village at times the cars can look like this, especially when the tractors are using our road as a short cut.
Before I washed it.




Seeing as it hasn't been polished since we bought it in July 2013 I thought I'd give it a good going over. Washed using a two bucket system so not to transfer dirty water or grit back onto the car using a micro fibre wash mits. Fully dried off using water absorbent clothes sush as Meguiars water magnets. Next I clay bared the paint to get any paint contaminants out, this really is worth the effort as it leaves the paint surface feeling like glass and super smooth. After the clay bar, I used a paint cleaner, then a polish, after which I gave it a wax. The cleaner, polish and wax were applied with applicators and polished off with micro fibre polishing cloths. I'm by far no car detailer, just enjoy cleaning the classic cars we have. The Freelander has come up very well, infact it looks much better now than when we first bought it off the previous owner who claimed to be a car detailer.

i would paint the spare alloy wheel in black as well and would change the rear bumper orange/red lights with the white/red ones...

I did a stupid thing the other month when we had a bad frost I tried to operate my tailgate, I knew instantly that I should not have tried that as the window glass will be frozen to the window seal, yep it was which resulted in snapping the window regulator cable instantly. I managed to get a good deal on a new genuine Land Rover part window regulator. With the help of my master mechanic friend we got it fitted. In my defence, on inspection of the old one, the snapped window regulator cable had been on its way out for a while and breakage was immanent, so I didn't feel to bad for what I thought was a costly stupid error. While we were at we also did an engine oil and filter change and had a good look round it, all looks great. Sorry no pictures this time.

I said when I saw the photos of yours all nice and shiny that I would do mine I had it washed but did not get around to the polishing o well maybe one day.

I've not posted anything in this thread for quite a while, well more like 14 months, purely because we have had only one misshap and we needed an alternator last summer which a friend of mine fitted at his garage and that's it, plus its usual service and M.OT's which it wanted nothing.
The Freelander has taken us on our annual holiday to Cornwall, a 1200 mile round trip and not missing a beat, it truly is a pleasure to drive and for its age at 15 years old and not to high mileage at 133k, the old girl over the last year or so has been very reliable so far. Yes we have spent a few quid on it ironing out all the issues it had through deglect from previous owners, but you cant expect a car to run for ever if you don't maintain it, so our first 12 months of Freelander ownership was a learning curve, but an enjoyable one as you get to know the car as you work on it and as I always say, maintainance is preventive medicine.
One thing it does need though is a good polish this year as our other classic cars have taken to much of my time up last year, so once the weather warms up a little then I'll give the Freelanders paint work some needy tlc.

Have you been on some of our green lanes? There's a lovely one that runs along the cliff path near Poldark Mine.

That isnt Poldark mine, it is Crowns, Botallack!

The Poldark TV series was filmed there, Poldark Mine is actually at Wendron, near Helston.

The Poldark books were not set there either, they were about St Agnes.

As you say it is a good lane! Appears in Devon and Cornwall green laning fred.

No guys not been on the green lanes in Cornwall, our holiday is mostly centred around our two Border Collies, walking and dog friendly places and relaxing, hence the reason we keep going back to St Agnes, plus we love the area and it's one place we would like to live.

You are quite right we used to call it Poldark Lane for the kids. It's a nice lane but had a rather soggy section last time I went.

Aggie is a nice place! About a half hour drive up the coast from here up the coast road.
We sometimes drive up and have dinner and a beer in the Driftwood Spars.

I've done quite a few green lanes over the years.
Which lane are you referring to? The one that goes past Grumbla?
