Default Occassional whining

Had the Freelander for 2 weeks now and quite pleased with it. Just one issue thats troubling me. Occassionally I get a whining noise from the drivers side front wheel It is totally at random and only seems to happen after I have been driving for a bit, and when I start turning left, but not all the time.
My thoughts are maybe a wheel bearing, anybody else got a suggestion?
Ta,
Hamish
