Hi need some help on my 1998 freelander. I have just had new rear brakes fitted and a new reverse light switch fitted.
As I drive away I notice my amber hill descent light is stuck on and if I use my windscrenn washers my back go at the same time. So I stop and remove reverse switch . Now my hill descent light is stuck on and the hill descent control does not work.

Any idea

Did they don't think its nothing they done.
Do you think the problem is caused by the new brakes being fitted or new reverse switch

now theres a surprise .

tell em to fix it or go to trading standards.

was yo HDC on before?
does HDC work off brake system?
have they worked on the braking system?
whats the likelyhood it summat they have done?

It has to be a fault with the reversing switch, as when in reverse and you put the front wipers on the rear wiper should work, so if you are in a forward gear and the rear wipers are coming on when the front wipers are on then its a fault.
As for hill descent as it only works in 1st and reverse then again points at switch however not sure you should see this issue with lights unless the decent switch in depressed.
Do the reversing lights come on when the should or are on all the time?.
For me it need a new switch and take it from there.

When the reverse switch us connected the reverse lights work fine all lights work fine just hill descent light is stuck on and does not work no more.
Only two things have been touched. Reverse switch and break shoes .
