New bearings for a vcu

Hi

I have just purchased a set of new bearings for a new vcu off ebay. The bearings are GKN new in a box with FAG bushes.

The brackets look second hand in that they are unfinished metal. The supplier was decent and phoned me to say some arrive painted and others not. Has anyone else found this. They cost £90 as I read that cheap bearings never last.

As long as you have GKN and FAG you should be good

Thanks. Should the brackets themselves be stamped GKN? I don't see any markings and would hate to think someone is pulling a fast one packaging them up in GKN boxes.

I have had two sets of GKN bearings (long story) and in each case neither of the brackets had any markings on, they were painted however.

How long has your vcu got left tho? I've just done mine with a £40 set but as my vcu prob not got that long I may as well replace the lot as a package deal so prob not worth the £90 ones???

Yeah I bought a britpart vcu new off ebay. It came with a receipt. Purchased and never fitted. The bearings were bearmach that I read were quite poor. I therefore am going to get rid of these and fit the new bearings to the vcu.
