Hi

I have just got a series 1 td4 freelander 5 door 2005.
I have a couple of queries which I'll post seperatly.

My nearside rear indicator dosnt work. I have checked the bulb that is fine. I tried f8 on the fuse box and that fixed the normal rear light (in the same unit) but I can't get the indicator to work. When I do the indicator on the dash it flashed quick. I think this is normal to let me know it's not working.

All other indicators but not that one. Any ideas? Possibly the relay? However all the other indicators work so I ruled it out, probably incorrectly.

Thanks
Rufio

Introduce Yourself - Land Rover Zone then firstly try the search facility top of page.

I was planning on introducing myself and i will be this evening where i can put a pic up with the computer and not my phone So sorry for just joining and asking a question but I will be properly introducing myself this evening.

I have done a search and it may be the bulb holder? Any other suggestions? I'm worried that I am annoying other motorists as they can't see me signalling left.

Although you have new bulb it might not make a good connection in the holder, and /or earth prob, does it have a tow at per chance?

Yes it came with a tow bar and electric part. Strange as it was working perfectly a couple of days ago, then suddenly the indicator and back light in the same unit just went. i changed the fuse and the back light worked but not the indicator.

Do you think the tow bar could be the problem?

edit...

Ive just gone to check again and the back light in the same unit has gone again! about a day after I changed the fuse.

put you lights all on and get some one to press the brake peddle with ignition on then put the indicator on if you get any of the other lights slowly flashing then it will be your earth. and also try it with out the brake lights , earth is behind the side panel
hope this helps

I'll definatly give that a go tomorrow evening. Thanks. By the way when you say earth is behind side panel do you mean the door card? Or inside the boot behind the carpet.

Right I mean left.... very lame joke

I tried what you said and none of the other lights were flashing. I took it apart any how to check the earth. Looked pretty new. Any how I took it off and tried it at different points. But none worked the back light or the indicator....

So it tired the fuse again and the back light lit up. ( so I think there may be something that is blowing the fuse in regards of the back light)

But still no indicator working :( I took the bulb and blew the inside of the holder like that would work! I put it all back together, just thought I'd turn the indicator on and it started working!! Not the back light though

So I wonder how long it will work for and I think something is blowing the fuse in regards to the back light and the indicator ... I have no idea?!

Gonna have a look at the tow this weekend and try and work out the electrics. Thanks all for your help!

Damn same indicator has gone again. Tried to sort out and not working. Think I'm going to try a mobile auto electrician.

Did you manage to fix the problem? I've got a similar issue with my rear indicator not working. The front flashes faster than usual, as does the light on the dashboard but the rear doesn't come on at all. Want to avoid a garage if I can.

I've tried changing the bulb now but unfortunately it still hasn't worked. The bulb does feel loose in the holder but I tried taping it down to hold it more securely to see if that was the problem but it still wouldn't work. Could it be the relay? If so, is it easy to change myself? I have no idea where the relay is or where to begin so any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks :)
