another problem with my td4 serengeti nasty vibrations appeared and it seems as if my drivers side front drive shaft has a lot of up down slop in it had it up on ranps and grabbed the shaft and it moves up and down in the cup any ideas is this normal i am getting a nasty feeling driving it almost feels like a wobble

Driveshaft wobble isn't great. It is worse when under power or going up a hill.

Do not replace with cheap ones. You need GKN or Hardy Spicer (roughly £200 each side) . Britpart aren't worth their weight in scrap metal. They might be cheaper.
Genuine LR ones are around £500 each. GKN & Hardy Spicer make for LR.....
I had a Britpart one fitted whilst we found s decent one. It was just horrible.

I now have a Hardy Spicer one fitted and all is great.

strange just did this repair to a mates gaylander today used the britpart one £40 ish quid took all of half an hour. all fixed the inner cv joint was causing the vibration on his

thanks for the input ive had it up in the air and theres a lot of slop between the cup on the gearbox, and the end of the shaft with the 3 bearings on it when i accelerate you can feel the wobble , i can do the job and know whats involved, if thats whats causing the wobble feels awful
