I like that mate! It's along the similar lines of what I want to do to mine.

How have you done the boot light mate and what light did you use? I'm after mounting two on mine up the top to act more as down lights, but I can't really find a suitable light.

Did you make a frame for the shelf in the boot? If so how and out of what? I'm thinking of using some thin walled steel pipe, aprox 1/2" diam with about 1/16" wall, but I'm not sure my welder will be soft enough to weld it.

Cheers Mick, the light is 12v LED strip light. Like this LED Interior Lamps Lighting : LED 103112 Strip Lamp 12V Just took the old light out, and fitted one in its place using existing wires. Going to fit another on the opposite side soon.

The shelf is just on metal 3" round table legs cut down, so its removal in seconds. Top is 12mm MDF, covered in heavy duty cloth and alloy 90 deg edging on the back and front. :)

Sweet. Cheers mate. I'm thinking of building something more permanent in mine, like bolted together but still removable.

How long has the lift kit been fitted? Have you had any problems since fitting it?

Cheers mate, how's you? haven't seen you on MUD FL for a while. :)

I pop in from time to time, have a read. Sold my Freebie in Oct, miss her. But cant leave the marque alone, love seeing what others do with theirs..

No probs mate. :)

Been fitted since Oct 2011, no problems yet........well got a problem at the moment, but don't think its Lift kit related. Think its my prop support bearings, but if not. It may be related, will find out tomorrow. :D

Lets hope it's not related. How many miles would you say you have done on it? I use mine as a daily driver for work, doing between 20-30miles per day, so don't want it to go breaking on me.

To be fair, today it threw a wobbly! The can started to cool even tho it was on hot air, and the engine temp started to rise. My initial thort was the water pump, but there wasn't a squealing belt or anything like that. Got to catterick market and popped the bonnet, expansion tank empty, quick look and the centre of the steering rack was wet. Filled the expansion tank, started the engine and it was ****ing coolant out of one of the pipes that feeds the heater matrix. Cut the pipe, slotted some pipe in as a "temp" fix and jubilee clipped it up. Job done for now.

Around 6-7k since it was done, don't use it daily. But done some long hauls, 300mile trips. I know people you have had them fitted a lot longer, and no problems. :)

Glad you got it fixed mate, Catterick isn't far from me lol

So am I mate. I found quite an oil leak from the rocker cover aswel, I really need to get it sorted.

Where you from? Do you go laning round this way? Pately bridge and the like?

Jc have you a seperate earth wire to that antenna mount as the bars have a plastic coating on and this will effect your standing wave ratio "SWR"

Not anymore, got a ground plane.....so now not required, and now crystal clear with no static. :)

I would assume so as he sai it's got it's own ground plane, it would make sense to earth it.

What connector is the most common for CBs? I use a few different coax cables and connectors for work, so could make all my own cables. Do they use 50 or 75ohm coax?

Mines RG58 coax cable, with PL259 plugs on each end....standard set up. Not sure on the ohm. :)

From what I can find on google and ebay, rg58 is 50ohm. As for the pl259, I don't think it's a type of connector I can source. I will see what the other blokes I work with can come up with before I go buying anything.
