I agree, but.....

It has done rough running issues and appeared to go into limp home mode last week, so it is in my local LR specialist at moment so they have it first thing in the morning to see what the problem is and plug their diagnostic kit in.
 
I like the look of your sensor, but on my commute I have a couple of cups in the cup holders so can't see it. Bad enough trying to see the clock, so I have to have only one cup. The fact that I need Go Go Gadget arms to reach it in the first place ****es me orf, but hey, better than the earlier 3 doors.. Anyhow, I was going to put mine where your satnav is for now. At least it has a clock in it too so I can put two cups out of reach! Saves me fitting a volt meter which I wanted too, so win win for me! Thanks for giving me the idea...

Now, your stereo. Which leads did you need to fit to fit the normal aftermarket stereo and did you get the steering wheel controls to work too?

I had the Becker head unit, which is quite different to the standard one.

The leads just plugged into the back and I tracked down from In Car Tech a suitable lead as the Becker isn't supported by the big names.

Awful lot of problems for a car with full history.Hope your luck holds for the rest of your ownership.No heated screen or fbh either.I run the SE Model 1 down from yours and i have both these options on mine.I am a service engineer and believe me a service history has about the same value as a toilet roll.Good luck with your's.Your's is nice to look at but what about the real bits "the bits that matter".

Problems? Air con with no gas but no leaks, the vcu, the split turbo hose, and now this rough running. All the rest has been preventative maintenance. Or modifications. The supplying dealer so far has been very good and the air con and VCU have been reimbursed or about to be.

The car has not broken down on me. I have always been able to keep going.

Now my e39 5 series BMW's I had prior to my Skoda's....they broke down.
 
I took the FL to Millennium Range Rover last night so they could have the car cold this morning.

They spent quite a bit of time trying to find out what the problem is, but couldn't find anything. There is a permanent fault showing with the EGR, but as it has been removed, that is too be expected. Their diagnostics said that it might be causing the problem, but it shouldn't.

Anyway. They didn't charge me.

They did quote me £345 + vat for fitting my lift kit though...... That seems just a tad on the high side to me.

That is what I was expecting!

I'll look elsewhere. It isn't a complicated LR specialist only job.

Then there will be a visit to a decent 4 wheel alignment specialist to set up the suspension geometry as well.

Wheels in Motion seem to be recommended by many southerners!!!!
 
I ordered a Scangauge11 from UKOBD and it turned up today.

It has loads of useful info.

Discovered that :
A) my thermostat is duff.
B) the auto is cr@p at moving off or when cold : lol:

I set it up to read GPH (gallons per hour) so I could work out what it is doing when stationary in a queue of traffic.

Here are my findings:

0.14 in N with a/c off
0.22 in N with a/c on (57% increase)
0.24 in D with a/c off (71% increase)
0.3 in D with a/c on. ((114% increase)

So on idle the car used much more fuel when in D or with a/c on.

Tell me something I didn't know. :lol:

So, don't use a/c when stationary and always take out of D. That way I can same 0.16 gallon per hour. Now that might not sound a lot to you folks out there, but today my average speed was 13 mph across South London ......29 miles in 2.1 hours, with 3 stops. (Not included)

I'll post a photo later. Managed to just about match the green of the car interior lighting.

I spent a while trying to work out where to put this, and decided to mount to the bottom of the pod above the steering wheel.




This green isn't quite the right one, but it was changed after, but the photo didn't come out very well, but this gives you an idea.
