M47 TD4 fuel ump leak

Hi all - just put a help subject in the engine section.

M47 TD4 2.0 diesel fuel injection pump removal: 2005 plate

Engines - Land Rover Zone

Any views or if you have tackled 1 of these yet - greatly appreaited.

That'll be the one in the rear driverside wheel arch then.Just done mine along with the filter replaced my pump with the bosch one from Europarts.Just have a look behind the wheel arch liner and you will see the pump in it's own housing along with the filter.There is plenty of info on the forum

Hi Alkaja, not sure my query cam across well - im doing the high pressure njection pump under the bonnet

The link to the photo you have posted is the fuel pump in the rear wheel arch same as the one i changed on my 2004 td4

as far as i am aware there is only the one fuel pump in that year td4 and it is housed along with the filter in the rear driverside wheel arch?

Hi hd3 - yep thats the link i put up - index - aswell, and this Andy is a member of the forum here aswell, hoping to remember to put some photos and may be socket sizes etc together, my main concern after undoing the gear nut is to make sure not to drop inside the case then with the tool - should be a piece of cake to continue with stripping to have pump overhauled.

Will see about uploading some parts diagramms later

well tomorrow is the day - tool arrived , should be dry weather , not to sure wether the engine needs to be timed yet up before removal though, will see what happens

Well the pump is finally off, the nut for the pump gear 21mm, special tool took a bit of manouvering to make sure it was correctly seat then wound all the way in, so the pumps off , and on quick visual check - the supplied gasket set for this M47 is wrong - the pump shaft front seal in the box way too big - took some pics as I went - will give a bit of a story board on completion.

Set neighbour bought was BOSCH : 1 467 045 046
Our removed pump is: 0 445 010 011

Looks like the front brown shaft seal which the timing gear sits on - the seal does not come in the overhaul kit and has to be bought seperate - going to clean the seal up and look for numbers off the seal to see what i can match etc. - turning into a headache is this
