Hi, i have an 05 freelander 1.8 i had the clutch cylinder in the engine compartment changed about a year ago as i had a problem selecting gears and it was fine. Now ive noticed the biting point on the clutch is very near the floor i can still select gears and its not slipping the question is,Is the clutch knackered and if so does anyone know roughly how much it costs to change it and also can anyone recommend a decent garage in the edinburgh area. Thanks very much.

I've got a Td4, hydraulic clutch, for a cheap fix check the clutch fluid and top up. did mine the other week and hey presto. If its still the same then it may be the slave.

thanks for that just checked fluid and its ok had the cylinders changed about a year ago so im thinking the clutch garage just called back £500
