Default K series woes

Well folks cylinder head has finaly went soft (fire rings started on head)

to add insult to injury the liners have slipped as well, has anyone tryed or fitted the Rover M16 engine to a freelander (used to have a 820 and covered over 350000km without any real issues)
.

Or am I going down the road of a Scholar e4 block and new head!!!!!
