Just bought 1.8 XEI

Hey everyone

Just bought a green freelander.

ive owned a corsa for 2 years and really wanted one of these.

its really nice, im only 19 years old though and can just see over the bonnet haha

tinted windows, tow bar, good interior, i love it

what do people think of this model?

least of your worries

yer i was looking at diesel, but then this one turned up and was good and i thought what the hell....

do a search for freelander and headgasket or doors falling off or transmition failier or mondo mode

yer the head gasket had just been redone a week ago cos it had failed lol.

Welcome Becks

as already mentioned............Just keep an eye on the coolant and oil levels, Transmission, gearbox, Electrical stuff, bodywork and window cables. Apart from that not much to worry about really

Oh yeah and sensible shoes

Hello Becks, welcome to Landyzone, 1.8 with HG done, I would ask you to consider (if its not been aready done) relocating the Thermostat to the front of the engine (look at QED k series mods on the web) this will reduce a lot of problems that can happen with this type of engine.

Any way I had a 1.8 now for years if there looked after and the after mods done you will have a trouble free car enjoy.

was meant to get it yesterday but they are still waiting for a part for a solanoid lol

illl keep everyone posted.

oh yer and my insurance is £80 a month. 19 year old girl, not bad i think
its only doubled.....i had a corsa before which was £40 a month!! arghh.......

hi becks .had my 1.8 for 2 yrs, no bother at all apart from a blown rad(400 quid),.....no worries.

now buy yourself a cheap little run-about to use whilst the freeloader stops workin and squats on your drive/garage/dealers and spends some of your hard earned sponds.
